  • Abigail Benedick, Graduate Intern

Hello! My name is Abigail and I am excited to be a part of your journey! Life can get messy and challenging, sometimes we need a space to process our emotions and work through the challenges life brings us. I hope to provide you with a safe space to do that. I am passionate about creating an emotionally safe environment for you to heal and seek personal growth. I’m an intern therapist, which means that I am completing my studies in Marriage and Family Therapy and receive regular supervision and guidance from experienced therapists. As an intern, I will be taking self-pay clients only.

    Background

I am a Master’s Level Intern currently studying at Lancaster Bible College, and will graduate with a degree in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling. I have worked and interned at Water Street Mission working with individuals and families experiencing homelessness. I have experience working with children & adolescents in community and church settings. And I currently am a Resident Director where I oversee and mentor college-age students at Lancaster Bible College.

    Areas of Interest

I look forward to working with children, families, adolescents, and adults from a variety of different backgrounds and experiences. Some therapy topics that especially interest me include attachment, trauma, depression, anxiety, relational challenges, and integrating a faith-based approach. Additionally, I am particularly interested in working with third culture kids/missionary kids and their families as they face the challenges of living a global lifestyle. In my studies and experiences thus far, I am interested in learning more about implementing Synergetic play therapy, Internal Family Systems, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy in my work. I am continuously learning more about my interests as I begin my journey as a therapist.

    About Me

I grew up overseas as a missionary kid and love learning about new cultures and places. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends and enjoying every moment I can outdoors. Hiking, biking, running if it’s outdoors count me in!
